This team is incredibly impressive—organized, mature, and proven in its propensity to pivot, capture revenue, foster it, and translate all the levers into an enduring brand. I met with Wayne Chung at Spruce ID and am impressed by his demeanor, organization, and conscientiousness. This firm is behind the California digital identity program with roadmap plans to integrate into every major technology company as a proven high-tech identity solution to reduce, if not eliminate, fraud.
NS Commentary: The next-gen identity program the Navy initiated to replace or lessen reliance on CAC cards should look to California to discover this startup and integrate it into their plans. It's not too late. This is a mature, proven technology that deserves attention and exploration if you're considering implementing a digital protocol to manage the identities of people and objects. I was shown a list of use cases that were all highly relevant, ranging from UAS identification beyond the inadequate friend or foe to LLM output, digital supply chain management, to certifications, and digital records for transitioning military members applying for skill-based jobs after their military service. The jurisdiction of unmanned assets is a significant concern - "Whose drone is this?" is a pressing question, especially as adversaries will develop deception drones. This is very real, as evidenced by the tragedy that unfolded at the Jordan-US military base, which cost American lives.
